The international joint research project ‘Oenotrace’ aims at developing a holistic approach for full transparency of sustainable practices in viticulture. An interdisciplinary consortium with partners from five EU countries will conduct research on the use of innovative sensor, infor-mation and IoT technology as well as modeling and Precision Viticulture approaches to achieve this goal.
In addition to the overall coordination, the main tasks of the Geisenheim University are col-lecting measurement data and conducting field trials in vineyards, as well as the implementa-tion of IoT sensor technology in a model value chain. Another contribution is the automated collection and analysis of machine data to obtain process-related information about the indi-vidual operations in the vineyard.
